The Mission

To empower and challenge our community to show up and do the work through movement, mental health awareness, and heart work. We promise to lead courageously with inclusion, vulnerability, grace, and accountability. This work allows for infinite possibilities of growth and connection both on and off the mat.

The Beliefs

As a collective, we believe we must lean in and hold space for one another while at the same time holding each other responsible in our day-to-day lives. We believe that movement should be inclusive, affordable, and accessible. We believe in creating a space that is founded on being vulnerable, being real, and giving grace to those that need it most. This space allows us to shed what no longer serves us, this space allows us to just BE. We believe that vulnerability is the gateway to living a bold, beautiful, and courageous life full of authenticity. We believe in holding each other accountable to just show up and do the work that works. We believe in sweaty flows, long hugs, sharing stories, and the power of music. We believe we must move to release the excess that builds in our day-to-day life. These beliefs become our tools to be fearless in the pursuit of happiness and we challenge you to lock sweaty arms with us and believe that truly it takes a Village.

The Why

In case you’ve forgotten, you can do hard things. No one is coming, it’s up to us. We must do the work ourselves, and WHY NOT! Somewhere along the line, we got lost. We got lost in changing diapers, making lunches, sleepless nights, over committing, long workdays, and so much more. It’s so easy to get lost in the busy-ness of life, or if we’re really being clear, getting lost in the idea that being busy means you’re successful. You don’t even notice it happening, but one day, you’ll look up, see yourself in the mirror and ask, who am I and how did I get here? The idea of The Village was born out of necessity, the necessity to have the highest form of self love and to the work. Unapologetic self love allows you to show up as your truest self. This love leads you to become a better partner, a better parent, a better friend, and a better person. Reframe your narrative and join us. Time to find yourself, your self love and do the work… WHY NOT?!

The Founder & Owner

What an incredibly long journey it has been to get here and we’re still just getting started. Our founder and fearless leader, Kelly Beck, has been obsessed with yoga and movement most of her adult life. Even as a young child growing up in Texas, she was very active in every seasonal sport and lived for summers with watersports! Sports would eventually lead her to play collegiate volleyball and even professionally overseas.

During her early years of college, she was already starting to feel the physical consequences athletics can have on the body. It was during this time that she tried yoga for the first time at the university rec center. Little did she know, that first class would change the trajectory of her life forever.

After meeting her husband in college, they would eventually move to his home town in Colorado. This is where she learned the true power of yoga and movement and how it can empower change in mental, spiritual, and physical health. Her personal practice revealed so much and yet was just scratching the surface. She wanted to deepen this growth and so she began her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program in 2010. From then on, she knew she was destined to teach and had dreams of becoming a boutique fitness studio owner but just wasn’t sure what that looked like… yet.

During this time, she and her husband had many struggles; from infertility to unemployment and too much to type in between (don’t worry, her podcast will fill ya in). Yoga was always there during a time of so much uncertainty. With struggle comes growth and through this journey, she truly learned that the growth is in the grit! The dream of opening a studio felt so far away with debt from infertility and eventually debt from back to back NICU babies and yet she never gave up.

After having her miracle daughter in 2012, her in-studio personal practice was stripped from her due to the lack of child care at her home studio. This was a time that she needed it the most and yet it was not accessible. It was during this time that she started to refine what the future studio would offer the community; affordable yoga and movement and most important, CHILD CARE for caregivers to have accessibility to an intimate studio experience!!!

From then on, her true vision of a studio was more clear than ever. She continued to teach at studios in Colorado as well as teaching private classes to students all over the state. After years of living in Colorado, she and her family were given the opportunity to move to New Braunfels, Texas, as some may say, “the sweet spot of Texas”. Change is hard but change is good. It was a difficult decision for her and her family but one they will never regret.

Shortly after moving, she knew that this was the family-focused town in which she’d one day open a yoga and movement studio! The early years of living in New Braunfels were amazing. She had her second child, built a home they loved, made lots of new friends and she truly established herself as a yoga and movement teacher in her community.

The stars were starting to align and now, more than ever, she was closer to opening that studio she had dreamed about for so many years. Kelly fiercely believes that yoga means community and that it should be accessible, movement should be affordable and caretakers should be able to have an intimate studio experience with child care available. The Village was truly born out of necessity. If you can’t find it, build it yourself, right!!! She knew this was a road less traveled but one that she’d pursue relentlessly and so she did. Well, you may be asking yourself, where is this studio and how do I sign up, LIKE RIGHT NOW?!?!?! Turns out COVID-19 had other plans… but don’t worry, we’re just getting started!!!
