About Alli

“Hi! I’m Alli! Originally from Spring Branch, Texas, I am a singer/songwriter, occupational therapist assistant, LSVT “BIG” therapist (Parkinson’s specific therapy), certified 200 hour yoga teacher and am currently studying Ganja Yoga. I reside in New Braunfels, Texas with my husband, Cody and our Boston Terrier, Dangit.

In 2001 I was introduced to yoga after walking into a flow class with the sole intention to enhance my already vigorous workout regime. Unaware at the time, my overkill in the gym combined with strict dieting would lead me plummeting into a severe eating disorder of Bulimia.  When the healing process started after deciding to conquer my ED, the support of my family, my faith, and the mindful movement practice that is yoga were constants that assisted me to begin to love my body and soul again. The stillness in yoga, the intentional breath work and meditation, and the combined strength and flexibility were unlike anything I had done with or for my body before.  Yoga became the most beautiful thing I had ever done for myself, and I began to slowly learn to give myself grace while carrying over traits from yoga practice into everyday life (such as being a silent observer).  This journey not only led me to emotional and physical healing, but led me to long for others around me to understand just how wonderful yoga is, and that it has nothing to do with how “bendy” you are. I knew I wanted to teach yoga, and I knew I wanted to teach it to everybody no matter what limitations.

With the support of my husband, I gained my 200-hour yoga teacher training, breath work, and mediation certifications from Soul Strong Yoga in Round Rock, TX.  The owners and their program even further molded and changed me, as they asked us to look deep within ourselves with reading and meditation prior to studying asana (the physical practice of yoga).  Somewhere during this process, I found out that one of my favorite yoga teachers of all time was opening a yoga and movement studio with her husband! And they just so happened to encompass EVERYTHING that yoga should be about.  An inclusive yoga and movement studio with passionate owners who love music and support the true foundational principles of yoga?! Count me in. I could not be happier to join Doug, Kelly, and the rest of the Village team for this continued journey that is yoga.”

Off the Mat

When I’m not on the mat,  you can find me behind the microphone singing groovy tunes in my band, seeking the “roads less traveled” with my husband and Dangit, strolling around town in my VW bus (future traveling home of Cannibus Yoga), having patio drinks with my folks and friends, or connecting with my faith through nature and community.
