About Shari
“I had no freaking idea I wanted to teach yoga until I moved to San Antonio and got back to my practice! I’d just overcome thyroid cancer and finding out I have an autoimmune disorder which left my body tired most days. I am a mom of two so there was never any thought of stopping!
On my application for my first YTT, one of the questions was something along the lines of “do you want to teach yoga or are you just deepening your practice by being here?” I knew at that point I wanted to teach yoga but was too frightened to admit it outloud or even write it on my application. My response read more like, “I may want to teach yoga one day” and writing that made me sweat buckets! Since then I’ve been Rocket trained, become a certified Sound Healer and even taken a course in how to lead meditations. I am constantly looking to learn, be a student and thriving to be the best teacher I can be.”
Off the Mat
You can find me researching somatic (body) psychology, holistic nutrition and planetary health! That’s often through listening to podcasts and audiobooks while I cook or walk my precious weenie dog, Jilly Boo.
Cooking and biking are the things that make me feel most grounded when I am stressed or overwhelmed.
In this busy life, I find connection to my emotions through writing or playing music. Playing shows with my band, “Ask for Elizabeth,” gives me so much life and makes me feel like a freakin’ rock star.
Lastly, my absolute greatest joy in life is being outside with my people, sharing sweet conversations, either by a river or cozied up together with a glass of wine in hand.
